RTMP - Real-Time Message Protocol

I am approaching this in a rather backwards manner. Having been interested in this from the perspective of wanting to be able to download from BBC iplayer, having managed to access the service in Canada (first using Tor and now via a VPN), I am now in the process of working out the inner workings of RTMP.

This page represents an on-going research project into the downloading of media streams from the Internet. This started off with the analysis of get_iplayer and the techniques used to download BBC programming. It is being extended with a goal of having the capability to capture other UK TV such as Channel 4 (4OD) and other international feeds.

Many pages relating to this project were located on my website tempusfugit.ca - these are currently being migrated to this blog.
